Dr Heather Williams
Dr Heather Williams MBE is a Consultant Medical Physicist and leader of the Nuclear Medicine group at The Christie and has extensive experience in a wide variety of Nuclear Medicine techniques.
Publications include a range of novel imaging applications, including PET-CT. Dr Williams’ team provides subject specialist expertise in PET physics and clinical technology to the PET-CT Academy.

Jo Moore
MEd.T
With over two decades working in the field of education, Jo is a seasoned teaching professional committed to making learning impactful.
Driven by a lifelong love of
learning, she has a master’s degree in Educational Technology, a P.G.C.E and a diploma in Digital Learning Design. This powerful combination of deep pedagogical understanding and innovative design thinking drives the leadership of the Academy’s education programme.
Radiology
Dr Amarjot Chander
Consultant Radiologist at The Christie and Clinical Supervisor
Dr Chander is dually accredited in Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine – and has specialist interest in neuroendocrine tumours. Her experience includes a range of PET tracers including 18FDG, G68 DOTANOC and 18F DOPA.

Dr Rohit Kochhar
Consultant Radiologist at The Christie and Lead Radiologist
Dr Kochhar is a consultant oncoradiologist and a member of the UK National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) Colorectal CSG with a specialist interest in peritoneal tumours, anal cancers and Education.

Dr Soo Mak
Consultant OncoRadiologist at The Christie and Clinical Supervisor
Dr Mak is a diagnostic oncology radiologist with a specialist interest in post-treatment brain tumour, head and neck cancer and haematological malignancy.

Dr Thomas Westwood
Consultant Radiologist at The Christie and Clinical Supervisor
Dr Westwood is an Oncology Radiologist with a specialist interest in nuclear medicine and molecular Imaging. His experience includes a range of PET tracers including 18 FDG, 68Ga-DOTANOC, 18F-Choline and 18F-DOPA.
Dr Ben Taylor
Consultant Radiologist at The Christie and Clinical Supervisor
Dr Taylor graduated from Sheffield University in 1991 and trained in Radiology in Manchester with a fellowship in Toronto. He became a consultant at the Christie in 2001 and has a wide range of interests in oncological radiology including PET-CT and image guided biopsy. He is an Advisory Editor for the journal Clinical Radiology and has contributed to the NICE guidelines for Cancer of Unknown Primary (2010) and Bladder Cancer (2015).

Wendy Jennison
Lead Clinical Technologist at The Christie and Content Developer for the PET-CT Academy
Wendy Jennison is the Chief Technologist in Nuclear Medicine at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, where she leads the management, training, and professional development of her team. With a career spanning over three decades, Wendy brings deep expertise in PET-CT and SPECT-CT imaging, as well as the administration of therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals. She holds an MSc in Nuclear Medicine from Salford University and has contributed to the MSc/PGDip Nuclear Medicine Imaging course as a lecturer and course team member, sharing her passion for high standards and professional excellence in clinical practice.
Jose Calero
Head of Radiopharmacy at The Christie
José Calero, (BPharm, MSc, GPhC) started his professional career as a Radiopharmacist at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester, United Kingdom. Mr Calero has leaded The Christie Radiopharmacy as a Consultant Radiopharmacist and Head of Radiopharmacy. In October 2014, Mr Calero became a member of the UK Radiopharmacy Group of experts.
Dr Peter Julyan
Principal Physicist at The Christie and Lead Physicist
In his current role Peter is responsible for providing medical physics support for clinical and research PET imaging in Christie Hospital, and research PET at the University of Manchester’s Wolfson Molecular Imaging Centre (WMIC). He is also involved with teaching at the Universities of Manchester and Salford, and supervises students at M.Sc. and Ph.D. levels.
Mary Gbongay
Deputy Lead Radiographer at The Christie and Content Developer for the PET-CT Academy
Mary qualified as a radiographer in 2007 and became a nuclear medicine technologist in 2016, following her transition from the Christie radiology department in 2015. She led the PET-CT department for three years, participated in the PET-CT Academy and developed in-house training programmes. In 2020 she completed her master’s degree in neuroimaging research at the University of Edinburgh. She also works as a technical assessor for the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).
Education

Rachelle Wood
Senior Clinical Skills Trainer
Rachelle is an Operating Department Practitioner who joined The Christie in 2010, working in anaesthetics, recovery, and chemotherapy. In June 2022, she became a Senior Clinical Skills Trainer with the School of Oncology and, in September 2023, added a role with the PET-CT Academy delivering IV cannulation workshops and assessments. She enjoys meeting new people and supporting their learning.

Yemi Gbala
Events and Marketing Coordinator
Yemi joined the PET-CT Academy in June 2024, having previously worked as a Marketing and Communications Officer at Sheffield Hallam University.
She is a creative who enjoys helping people become who they want to be. Outside of work, she can be found cooking or spending time with her family.

Joanne Walker
Administrator
Joanne joined the PET-CT Academy in September 2024 and supports education programmes, event coordination, marketing, and data management. She holds a BSc in Complementary Therapy, and values teamwork and respect, with a deep personal interest in complementary therapy and holistic wellness.
Laura Olive
Education Developer
Laura joined the PET-CT Academy in June 2025, bringing over a decade of teaching experience across a range of education sectors, specialising in designing and delivering evidence-based, innovative qualifications.
Currently undertaking a Doctor of Education (EdD), Laura is passionate about improving accessibility and engagement in learning. She applies the latest research and educational design methods to develop impactful, inclusive learning experiences.
Laura van Vliet
e-Learning Designer
Laura joined the PET-CT Academy as an e-Learning Designer in June 2025, having previously worked as a graphic and digital learning designer in the Health & Wellbeing industry for several years.
Her background in veterinary nursing prior to obtaining her design qualification has inspired her to commit her creative spark to designing innovative and engaging e-learning journeys within healthcare.
Alliance Medical
Georgina Hayes
Alliance Medical HR Director
Georgina has been part of the Alliance Medical HR team since 2011 and took up responsibility as HR Director in 2019. Georgina is an experienced HR professional with proven accountability covering all aspects of the workforce agenda.
Prior to joining Alliance Medical, Georgina started her early career in training and development before progressing to HR management roles in the Health & Wellbeing sector. Georgina has a BSc Hons degree in Sociology and Education from Cardiff University.
Angela Meadows
Alliance Medical Molecular Imaging Specialist Advisor
Angela has 20 years’ experience working in the field of PET-CT Imaging and has worked within the NHS and Independent Sector throughout this time. Angela is currently Head of PET-CT Clinical Services for Alliance Medical, providing support to the clinical teams on all matters governance and compliance specific to PET-CT. In addition, Angela has a particular interest in Research and Clinical Education and is an advisor for the Society of Radiographers Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Advisory Group.
James Fletcher
Alliance Medical Head of Resourcing and Learning
James has over 20 years’ experience in L & D and has headed up L & D departments for several large organisations such as Capita IT Services and Wockhardt Pharmaceuticals. Currently responsible for all things L & D-related at Alliance Medical, working with key partners and providers to ensure our clinical, non-clinical and radiopharmacy workforce have the skills they need to perform and develop their careers.
