Advanced Study Days are offered four times per year and can be attended virtually or in person. Each 4-hour session is delivered live from Christie Education’s state-of-the-art auditorium, featuring expert faculty and guest speakers. The day includes lectures, case studies, and interactive sessions with real clinical examples.


Use of Contrast in PET-CT

Provides a comprehensive introduction to contrast and its application, the practicalities of using appropriate equipment safely and implementing the correct protocols, such as attenuation correction, dose, and data flow.

Suitable for Radiologists, Radiographers, Technologists, Clinical Leads, Clinical Scientists, and other clinical staff.

    Ami Chander

    Dr Chander is dually accredited in Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine – and has a specialist interest in lung malignancy.

    Peter Julyan

    Dr Julyan is responsible for providing medical physics support for clinical and research PET imaging at the Christie Hospital, and research PET at the University of Manchester’s Wolfson Molecular Imaging Centre (WMIC). He is also involved with teaching at the Universities of Manchester and Salford, and supervises students at M.Sc. and Ph.D. levels.

    Tom Westwood

    Dr Westwood is an Oncology Radiologist with a specialist interest in nuclear medicine and molecular Imaging. His experience includes a range of PET tracers including 18 FDG, 68Ga-DOTANOC, 18F-Choline and 18F-DOPA.

    Wendy Jennison

    Wendy Jennison is the Chief Technologist in Nuclear Medicine at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, where she leads the management, training, and professional development of her team. With a career spanning over three decades, Wendy brings deep expertise in PET-CT and SPECT-CT imaging, as well as the administration of therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals. She holds an MSc in Nuclear Medicine from Salford University and has contributed to the MSc/PGDip Nuclear Medicine Imaging course as a lecturer and course team member, sharing her passion for high standards and professional excellence in clinical practice.
